A bishop recounts his first exorcist

An exorcist says he once witnessed a terrifying case of demonic possession. A woman, possessed by a demon, managed to throw four men across the room as if she had superhuman strength.

Bishop Plato Angelakis, an Orthodox Catholic priest ordained with the Oblates of St. Teresa in Wisconsin, United States, said it was the very first exorcism he had conducted. At the time of the incident, he was accompanied by a small group of other priests.

The possessed, a 60-year-old woman, had "eaten or drank anything for a month". The exorcist and his team have come to her home to rid her of this demonic presence.

During The Exorcist TV show, the Bishop recounted what happened:

For the most part she showed extraordinary strength, three or four us, throwing us around the room – there were about four adults.

In addition to this superhuman strength, the woman was showing obvious signs of possession.

The whites of her eyes were all back, you try doing that, that’s something you can’t naturally do.

Some language coming out, strength is probably the number one thing for her. She had extraordinary strength.

For some reason, this particular entity could not leave the home. I don’t know why. Once we got her out there was nothing.

So when she was out of the home it was just fine.

It took two days to ‘liberate’ the wife from the demon, but his family remained practicing Satanist rites.

Bishop Angelakis said that in his entire career he had “never encountered anything like this.

To this day it is still one of the most intense exorcisms of a person I have ever encountered.
