On September 1st, a resident of Fairfax, California reported a strange sighting in the evening sky of their city. According to their testimony published on the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) website, the witness observed an elongated object moving slowly in the western sky at around 8:50pm local time.
Cigar-shaped according to their description, the object was located approximately 20 degrees above the horizon and heading south at a slow speed. Despite some cloud coverage, the witness was able to observe it for around 5 minutes before it disappeared from their view.
The object was estimated to be quite large in size, between 500 meters to 1 kilometer in length. It had many flashing white lights positioned asymmetrically along its elongated structure. According to the report, these lights created flowing patterns that made the object appear “alive” in motion. No sounds were emitted from the mysterious craft.
Roughly 10 to 15 minutes after the sighting, the witness heard jet planes fly over the same area but at a much higher altitude. While no rational explanation can be given at this time, this testimony adds to questions around the reality of unidentified aerial phenomena. Further investigation will be needed to try and solve the mystery of this strange object spotted in California's night sky.
