An intriguing report has recently been submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) regarding an unexplained sighting in the skies over England, near the RAF Dishforth military base. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. local time, was described by the witness as a "very shiny metallic circle" that appeared briefly before vanishing without a trace.
According to the report filed with NUFORC, the witness was driving southbound on the A1 motorway from Richmond (North Yorkshire) to York when they spotted an unusual object in the sky. The object had a circular shape and a bright metallic silver appearance, standing out due to its unique and odd look.
"As soon as I noticed it, it turned on its side, appearing flatter, and then disappeared into thin air," the witness stated.
Unlike nearby airplanes, which were leaving visible trails behind them, this object showed no signs of emissions or contrails. Despite searching the sky thoroughly, the witness was unable to spot it again.
It was only the following day, during a conversation with a friend, that the witness learned the sighting had occurred near the RAF Dishforth military base, an active airfield.
"I am 100% sure of what I saw. I have never seen anything like this before," the witness added, expressing confidence that the object was a UFO.
RAF Dishforth is known for hosting various military aviation activities, which raises the possibility of a rational explanation, such as an aerial exercise or a prototype aircraft test. However, the lack of any visible contrails or other typical markers makes this explanation less straightforward.
