A Mysterious Orange Orb Spotted in the Skies of Warsaw

On Friday, December 13, 2024, a fascinating report was submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) concerning an unusual sighting in the Warsaw region of Poland. Two witnesses, located in a field at the edge of a small forest, claim to have observed an unidentified flying object that left them perplexed.

An Ordinary Evening Turns Extraordinary

The two observers had gathered to watch the Geminid meteor shower, an annual astronomical event eagerly anticipated by stargazers. While admiring the night sky, a flying object caught their attention. According to their description, it was a luminous orange sphere, possibly slightly disc-shaped. Unlike stars or illuminated airplanes, this orb did not blink and emitted a steady glow.

Intriguing Behavior

The object, flying at a relatively low altitude, followed a straight path over the Wilanów district in Warsaw. It moved slowly, at a speed significantly slower than an airplane, with slight variations in its pace. The witnesses reported that the orb seemed to briefly pause before continuing its trajectory.

“We are familiar with airplanes, drones, and Starlink satellites. What we saw did not match any of these objects,” the witnesses stated in their report to NUFORC. They estimated that the object was a few kilometers away, but its exact size was difficult to determine. However, they affirmed it was noticeably larger than an ordinary drone.

A Simple Illusion or a True Unexplained Phenomenon?

UFO sightings often spark a mix of fascination and skepticism. The lack of videos or photographs accompanying this report prevents further analysis, but some ufology experts believe the details provided here are noteworthy. The bright orange color and unconventional behavior of the object raise questions.

Context: A Night Suited to Aerial Phenomena

The Geminid meteor shower is known to attract skywatchers. However, UFO sightings during such events can sometimes be explained by natural phenomena like bolides (extremely bright meteors) or Chinese lanterns. In this specific case, the witnesses ruled out these common explanations based on the details they observed.
