Brief Observation of a Large Luminous Disc Reported in Michigan

An unusual sighting was reported on January 13, 2026, and later logged with the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), concerning a large unidentified aerial object observed near the city of Clare, Michigan.

According to the report, the sighting occurred at approximately 8:10 a.m. local time and lasted around 25 seconds. Two witnesses were present at the time. The incident was formally reported to NUFORC later the same day at 3:17 p.m. Pacific Time.

The witnesses, coworkers traveling by vehicle to Beaverton for line clearance work, stated that the object was first noticed while driving. One of them observed it through the passenger-side window and described it as a massive disc-shaped craft hovering above the tree line.

The object was estimated to be roughly the width of three football fields and positioned at a distance of about 500 yards (approximately 460 meters). It was viewed from the ground, to the south of the observers, at an estimated elevation angle of 58 degrees. The object appeared stationary during the observation.

Both witnesses reported that the object was surrounded by numerous large lights, described as visually striking. The lights reportedly pulsed in a blue hue. NUFORC’s classification of the sighting lists several notable characteristics, including lights on the object, changes in color, and the emission of other objects, though these additional details were not expanded upon in the written testimony.

One of the witnesses stated that upon noticing the object, he immediately asked his coworker to identify it. The coworker reportedly responded that he did not know what it was. Both witnesses emphasized that they had never seen anything comparable before.

No official explanation has been provided regarding the nature of the object. As with many reports submitted to NUFORC, the account is archived for documentation and research purposes, without confirmation or determination of the phenomenon’s origin.
