Mysterious Triangular Object Spotted in Indian Sky

Jhusi, Uttar Pradesh, India – A new witness report published by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) is drawing attention from astronomy enthusiasts and researchers of unexplained aerial phenomena. On April 17, 2026, a resident of Jhusi, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, claims to have seen a bright triangular object racing across the night sky at extraordinary speed.

An Appearance Lasting Only Seconds

According to the report submitted to NUFORC, the sighting occurred at approximately 7:15 PM local time and lasted between 3 and 5 seconds. The witness, listed as the only observer, described the object as triangular in shape, bright yellow in color, and moving at high altitude.

It was first seen in the north-east direction at an elevation angle of around 74 degrees, before traveling rapidly toward the north-west.

Remarkable Speed

The witness estimated the object’s speed at more than 1,000 km/h, suggesting it may have been moving faster than Mach 2. They also noted that the object had no visible trail, which would make a conventional meteor or jet contrail less likely.

Its appearance was described as highly unusual: several bright yellow lights forming a triangular shape, with the center appearing brightest. A faint aura or haze was reportedly visible around the object.

Sudden Disappearance into the Clouds

The sighting ended as quickly as it began. According to the witness, the object vanished within seconds, possibly entering cloud cover, leaving no time to record video or take photographs.

Unexplained Phenomenon or Rational Explanation?

As with many such reports, several explanations remain possible: an experimental aircraft, atmospheric re-entry debris, an advanced drone, optical illusion, or a misidentified astronomical event.

At present, no physical evidence — such as photos, videos, or additional witnesses — has emerged to verify the object’s true nature.

Another Case Added to NUFORC Archives

The NUFORC, a U.S.-based organization that has collected UFO and unexplained aerial phenomenon reports for decades, continues to receive sightings from around the world. This latest case from India now joins a long list of incidents that remain, for now, unresolved.
