On October 7, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m., three people reported witnessing an unusual aerial phenomenon in the sky over Ibos, a town in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region of France. The account was submitted to and published by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), a U.S.-based organization that collects reports of unidentified flying objects.
According to the report, the sighting lasted approximately three minutes. The witnesses were traveling by car when they noticed a luminous object that appeared motionless above the trees, in the direction of the nearby town of Juillan, to the south. Initially assuming it was a plane or a helicopter, they continued driving while keeping it in view. However, its prolonged stationary position quickly raised doubts.
As they approached, the object reportedly remained completely static before suddenly moving toward their vehicle. The witnesses described a moment of fear as it passed directly overhead at a low altitude, estimated at around 50 meters. At that point, the object revealed a clearly triangular shape, roughly ten meters on each side.
Seen from below, the craft displayed a bright light at each corner, with blinking lights perceived as red and blue. The angle of elevation, estimated at 90 degrees during the flyover, allowed a direct view of its triangular structure.
No precise speed could be determined, but the movement was described as smooth and silent, adding to the strangeness of the experience. No engine noise or sound typically associated with conventional aircraft was mentioned.
At this stage, no official explanation has been provided. Such reports, though relatively rare, form part of a long series of observations of unidentified aerial phenomena, whose interpretation often remains complex. Possible explanations range from drones and military aircraft to atmospheric or optical phenomena, making definitive conclusions difficult.
For now, the Ibos sighting remains an unexplained account, recorded as reported, pending any additional information that might help clarify its origin.
